Accept Your Emotions and Mistakes


We all make mistakes and feel negative emotions. This is part of being human.

Mistakes: A large, large majority of every person who has ever achieved sustainable sobriety has made plenty of mistakes on the way. They are inevitable. However, if we accept that we made mistakes and learn from them, we’ve already better for it. We can never learn without making mistakes.

Emotions: We all feel negative emotions like sadness, anger and fear. There is nothing wrong with feeling these emotions. Accept & observe them to take away their power. Look at the readings on Distress Intolerance (Day 10) & Distress (Day 11) for techniques to deal with distress.
