Stress Management Tips
Here are some tips to manage stress:
Get enough sleep and nutrition. Make sure that you take good care of yourself.
Do 15 – 30 mins exercise every day. Exercise is a way to get extra dopamine in your body. Dopamine acts like a painkiller and it can also help you to improve your quality of sleep, and hence reduce stress.
Say no to perfectionism. No need to be extremely harsh on yourself. Take it easy and treat yourself just like how you treat your friends or loved ones. Remember, focus on progress not perfection.
Cultivate Resilience. Resilience could be developed by positive self-talk, self-compassion, and meditation. If you have high resilience, you can bounce back really quickly with really little emotional support from others.
Reframing your thoughts. Stop negative thoughts. Give yourself credit when you do a good job. Think of mistakes as lessons to be learnt in life. When you have negative thoughts, try to either use the techniques from ‘Changing your thoughts’ or ‘The Work’.
Meditate. Meditation can help you relax and calm your mind. During meditation, your attention will be shifted away from the thoughts that crowd your mind and cause stress.
