Being Your Own Best Friend
And most importantly, we learn to trust ourselves. Like all other parts of becoming our own best friend, this takes intention and practice. This may feel especially challenging if we have just left a period where we were not able to trust ourselves. Practice loving kindness, grace, and forgiveness. Use affirmations like “I trust myself to make the right choice,” and be gentle when you make a mistake. Just like building trust with a friend takes time, so does rebuilding trust with ourselves.
