Visualize to Realize

Your subconscious mind can be a powerful ally in achieving your sobriety goals. The subconscious is the part of your mind which controls your feelings & emotions. But here's the kicker - it is not under your direct control.

However, that doesn't mean we can't influence it. There is some truth in the saying - "If you can see it, you can achieve it". There is evidence that shows that our subconscious can't tell the difference between a vivid imagination & reality.

What that means is that if you vividly visualize the life you dream of, your subconscious mind will start believing it. Essentially, the more you do it, the more you (or your mind / inner voice) will start believing you can achieve it. In psychology, belief in yourself is called self-efficacy and is a very important requirement for sobriety. Visualization allows you to build self-efficacy. This is great because the more you believe, the more you will achieve AND the more you achieve, the more you will believe
